Deb Scardilli Wead, age 59, went to be with the Lord God on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at her home in Phoenix, AZ. Deb will be deeply missed by her husband of over 31 years, Tim Wead, her two sons, Addie and TJ Wead, TJ’s fiancé Maggie Broderick, brother Dennis Scardilli (Patti), daughter and granddaughter, uncle Philip Scardilli, cousin Pat Scardilli, cousin Susan Waldman (David) and children, brother-in-law Doug Wead (Miriam) and children, nieces and nephews. Deb was greeted in heaven by her family who went before her, including her parents, Joseph and Ethel Scardilli, her niece, Cara Scardilli, her father-in-law Roy Wead, mother in law Rosa Mae Wead, brothers in law Jim and Bill Wead, and numerous other family members.
Deb was an accomplished clothing designer, actress, and educator. Beyond raising her sons, she counted her 12-year teaching career at Scottsdale Christian Academy to be one of her biggest accomplishments. As the elementary art teacher, Deb used her talent to create a tradition of murals and student art displays, raise money for the program, lift up students, and broadened the presentation of their work.
Deb will be greatly missed by those who loved her. A woman with a selfless heart, Deb was there for any friend in need and always knew the right thing to say. She was also a devoted mother who sewed award-winning Halloween costumes for her boys, made them four course meals for their lunch boxes, and dressed them for success each day. Furthermore, Deb was Tim’s faithful companion and the love of his life. They shared the gift of raising their sons, adventures on the ski slopes, and a deep-rooted faith.
Deb loved the Lord and is now at peace surrounded by Angels in Heaven. Join Deb’s family for a Memorial Service to celebrate her life this Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11am at Dream City Church in Phoenix, 13613 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022. The funeral will take place at The Prayer Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Church on the Street or Phoenix Dream Center. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.
