Alice Patricia Ackel

89, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27

, 2015. She was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas and moved to Arizona with her family in 1941. She graduated from Saint Mary’s High School where she met her husband Tony Ackel. Her working career started in the office at Arizona Downs and Turf Paradise. She also worked for Hewlett Packard in Phoenix, Tab Products and owned her own business, Arizona Filing Systems. She was a great cook and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her sisters Margaret Mary and Nancy Cressey. She is survived by her son Chris (Susie), grand children Natalie Ackel, Matthew Ackel and Kathleen Ackel, sister, Judy Cunningham (Jimmy), brother, Mike Hurley (Nancy) and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 9-10am with a Funeral Mass at 10am, Wednesday, April 1, at Saint Mary’s Basilica, 231 N. 3

Street, Phoenix. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Mary’s High School. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
