Alex A. Adea, 78 years old, was called home to heaven on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. He was born on June 18, 1944, in the Philippines, but made his home in the United States determined to make a better life for himself. He was loved and respected by so many, and his presence will be truly missed but will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his beloved wife Zenaida Adea of 53 years. He gave his kids three simple rules to abide by growing up: 1. Do good in school. 2. Do your chores. 3. Never EVER disrespect mom. That was the kind of man he was. Simple, loving, and selfless. Alongside his wife, he is also survived by his son Alex Adea Jr, Zarah Copeland (Jason), and Paul Adea. Over the years, his family grew to include both grandchildren and great grandchildren. His grandchildren include Arielle Adea, Timothy Adea, Allyson Lewis and husband John Lewis. Rheanna Walker and husband Justin Walker. Rhenessa Reyes and husband Allan Reyes. Alayna Deguzman and JC Deguzman. He was blessed to enjoy time with his great grandchildren as well; Jackson Wellner, Royce and Ashley Peach Lewis. Alex was preceded in death by his granddaughter Ashley Adea.
He always taught us and reminded us that family will always come first and encouraged us all to live and to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. He loved playing poker to pass the time on weekends. Enjoyed watching The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Loved watching classic western movies and shows. He didn’t have a favorite sports team, but he loved watching Basketball and Football. He was also an amazing cook, and his dishes will definitely be missed.
He served proudly in the United States Navy for 25+ years and after retirement worked for the United States Post office. He did everything he could to provide for his family and that mentality remained even in his golden years of life. Always offering to give someone gas money or even money for food if we needed it. He was the type of man that would give you his last penny if you asked him for it.
Until we meet again, may you rest in peace and may your poker hands be strong.
