Albert "Al" Joseph Sanders III, 69, of Goodyear, Arizona, formerly of Frankfort, Illinois, was born on January 9th, 1955 in Evergreen Park, IL, Son of Albert Sanders Jr. and Joan Sanders. Al departed this life for his peaceful heavenly home on Thursday, January 18th, 2024 at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona.
Al grew up in Oak Lawn, IL where he followed in his Father’s footsteps to become a heating and air conditioning technician and worked for his Father’s HVAC company. Al met the love of his life, Sherrie Privett, while fixing an air conditioning unit in the basement of an apartment building and five years later they committed their lives to each other in marriage on October 11th, 1986.
Al was the most dedicated and motivated individual, he never gave up on anything. In fact, after 40 years in the field, he was still working as a HVAC Project Analyst from home at EMCOR until his very last day. He also was taking care of his 90 year old Mother who moved in with him in November 2023. He loved the outdoors and spent most of his time fishing, gardening and spending time with his Family. He moved to AZ to be with his two Grandchildren who stayed with him every other weekend.
Al was diagnosed with Amyloidosis in March of 2021. He had such a strong will to live for his family and that he did. With the help of his wife Sherrie and Mayo Clinic he fought the fight for three years. He had a life-long history of surgeries, pain and medical appointments and we can comfortably say he is at peace now.
Al is survived by his mother, Joan Sanders; wife, Sherrie Sanders; children, AJ (Tiffany) Sanders and Jenelle (Tyler) Murphy; grandchildren, Natalie, Nolan and Nox; dear family members, Jeanette (John)Andrews and Shirley (Bob) Pocica; three sisters Joanie (John) Pagakis, Donna (Alan) Chlebek and Laura (Alan) Graycas; two nieces Melynda and Allison Chlebek; and many of his cherished life-long friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 15th, 2024 at the Frankfort Founders Center, 140 Oak St, Frankfort, IL from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Amyloidosis Foundation at Amyloidosis.org in Al’s memory.
