Yvonne C. Amador, 72, of Queen Creek, passed away at home, Tuesday, October 2, 2018, with her family by her side.
She was born on June 14, 1946, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Evangeline Cordova. She was a graduate of North High School. On August 20, 1966, she married Ed Amador.
To know Yvonne was to know endless love and commitment to all that is good, true, excellent and praiseworthy. She lived her life believing everyone has feelings and deserves to be loved. A truth she learned from her beloved grandfather, Pamo, that only grew stronger with her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Yvonne was a licensed and trained cosmetologist. She traded in her scissors to work at her children’s school so she could be home when her children were home. Creating and caring for her home and the people in it was always her greatest passion. Yvonne worked in the Osborn School District for many years as a Teacher’s Assistant and as an ESL Instructor. The children she taught felt safe with her to share their struggles, and her hard work overwhelmingly blessed the teachers she served. Yvonne’s work ethic was surpassed by none.
Yvonne is survived by her husband; Ed Amador, son; Eddie Amador and daughter; Alisa Keeton, son-in-law; Simon Keeton and her two dearly loved grandchildren; Jack Keeton and Sophia Keeton. All reside in Phoenix.
A Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 with a Funeral Service at 10:00 A.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Burial will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Yvonne’s wish is to have all loved ones to wear colored clothing to celebrate her life and to opt out of wearing black clothing.
