Anita Gonzales, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, just days before her 95th birthday. She was born on April 2, 1930, in Peoria, Arizona, and lived a long, full life rooted in love, faith, and family.
Anita dedicated over 20 years of her life as a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), caring for others with the same warmth she gave to her family. She was known for her deep love of dancing and Mexican music, often filling her home with lively rhythms and joyful energy. Her green thumb was unmatched—she adored her plants and flowers, tending to them with pride and joy.
Above all, Anita had a strong faith in the Lord. Her relationship with God was the foundation of her life, and she lovingly passed down her spiritual values to her children and grandchildren. Her prayers, guidance, and unwavering belief in God's goodness continue to live on through her family.
She raised numerous grandchildren with patience and love, always putting her family first. Anita’s legacy continues through her children: Frank Romero, Leticia Romero, Vivian Escarcega, and Josie Romero; and her grandson, David Ceniseros
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Romero; her second husband, Abel Gonzales; her son, Charles Romero; and her daughter, Mary Ann Romero.
A visitation will be held at 10 am with a funeral service on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, located at 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ.
