Antonia "Toni" Ruiz

Antonia, known as Toni, Ruiz, 90, of Tempe, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.

Toni was born on January 17, in Hayden to Thomas J. and Secundia Rodriquez. Toni married the love of her life, Rupert Vizzera Ruiz, on July 30, 1952. They shared nearly 72 wonderful years together, all marked by mutual respect, unwavering support, and a deep love for their family.

Rupert and Toni were blessed with three children, Rupert (Elizabeth) Ruiz; Toni Harlow; and Priscilla (Keith) Miller. She was deeply loved by her former daughter-in law, Pat Ruiz and her former son-in-law, Bob Harlow, and she loved them in return. Toni dedicated her life to serving and caring for her family, always working tirelessly to ensure their well-being and happiness.

She is survived by her children and her beloved grandchildren, Lisa Ruiz-Lee (Ken Lee); Mathew (Candice) Ruiz; Timothy (Shannon) Ruiz; Ray (Heidi) Harlow; Michael Harlow; Michele (John) Aguero; Shannon (Sean) Mayfield; and Jason (Rosario) Miller. She also leaves behind 29 great grandchildren, and 9 great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Rupert V. Ruiz and her 3 grandchildren: Brandon Ruiz; William Harlow; and Christina Lopez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26, at Whitney and Murphy Funeral Home in the chapel from 4-5 PM for family and then services from 5 PM to 8 PM. Rosary will be held at 6 PM. Whitney and Murphy is located at 4800 Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ, 85018.

A celebration of Toni’s life will be held on Thursday, March 27, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Mount Carmel located at 2121 South Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ, 85282. Following Mass, a graveside service will be held at Tempe Double Butte cemetery around 12:30 PM. The cemetery is located at 2505 W. Broadway Rd., Tempe AZ, 85282.

Toni will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her love for her community, and the kindness and compassion she shared with all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment that will continue to inspire and uplift her family for generations to come.
