Died on August 16, 2011 at the age of 90. Born in St. Louis, MO to Loretta (nee) Paule and Alphonse Joseph Archambault on December 12, 1920. He graduated from St. Barbara’s and McBride High parochial schools. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946. During training at Buckley Field, he was injured, requiring hospitalization at Fitzsimons General Hospital, Denver, CO. While a patient, he met a lovely lady, Margaret E. (nee) Springstead, Registered Physical Therapist at Fitzsimons. They were married in the Post Chapel July 31, 1944 and had their children, Dennis Ralph (Jeanne) Archambault and Carol Eileen Painter. After Army discharge, he entered college at Oklahoma State graduating in 1951 with an Electrical Engineering Degree. He was employed by Honeywell as Staff Engineer where he retired in 1982. Rey became active in hunting, taking nine of the ten big game animals of Arizona. Fishing, camping, boating, etc. became the passion for the family of four, including many summer weekends waterskiing on various lakes in the state. During camping exposures, they went from tent, to trailer to motorhome. Margaret and Rey spent fifteen summers at an RV park and trout lake at 8200’ in the White Mountains of AZ. Rey is survived by Margaret, his wife of 67 years, son Dennis, daughter Carol, granddaughter Lisa and great, grandchildren Trinity, Tommy and Tiah. Funeral Mass 10:30am, Friday, August 19, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Avenue, Phoenix. Interment 12:30pm, Friday, August 19, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix.
