Salwa “Emily” Doany Baker

Salwa “Emily” Doany Baker, of Sun City West, Az. went to be with her beloved Lord on Wednesday, July 6th, 2011. Emily was born September 2, 1927 in Haifa, Palestine. She was preceded in death by her husband James Baker. Survivors include her son John Doumani, his wife Nikki and their children Megan and Christopher and numerous cousins and relatives. Emily trusted the Lord with her life and read the Bible and prayed for her loved ones daily. Her life was also devoted to her country Palestine and speaking about the truth of what happened to her family when they were forced out of Haifa. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M., with Trisagion service at 7 P.M., Sunday, July 10th, and Funeral Service 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 11th, all at St. George Orthodox Church, 4530 East Gold Dust Ave., Phoenix. Interment will follow at Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City, AZ. Donations may be made in Emily’s name to St. George Orthodox Church. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.
