Barry Gannon, 67, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on December 17, 2023; he is preceded in death by parents Edward and Rita (Chambers) Gannon, brothers Tom, Ray and Bill. He is survived by two brothers, a sister and nephews and nieces.
Barry was a long-time member of the St. Francis Xavier Parish. He enjoyed the cowboy life, hunting, working at the family-owned Santa Rita Stables in Phoenix and the Chambers Ranch, near Flagstaff. He liked driving his Ford F150 truck in the Arizona backroads, hauling, riding, and training his horses. For many years, Barry lived in Flagstaff and later moved back to his hometown of Phoenix. However, he loved returning to Flagstaff to relax and just sit in front of his fireplace chewing Copenhagen and drinking a can of coke. His friends will remember his love for the Quarter- Pounder with cheese meal deal, that he was a die-hard Arizona State University Sun Devils football fan and that he was always willing to give a helping hand or just talk about life (chewing the fat). He was so optimistic about life and living his dreams.
Furthermore, Barry was proud to talk about his parents, his Flagstaff family history, and the Riordan Mansion State Historic Park, his great-grandparents' home. One more thing, Barry had a life-long group of close friends however, he could make friends with anyone by initiating a conversation with a joke or with his amazing knack of understanding people’s feelings in their situation.
