Beatrice R Sordia

Beatrice R. Sordia, affectionately known as “Wickie”, peacefully departed this life on March 28, 2025, surrounded by her adoring family. Born on January 31, 1931, in Phoenix, Arizona, to her parents Albert G. Rodriguez and Rita A. Alvarez. Beatrice's life was a testament to love, dedication, and unwavering strength.

Her remarkable career included leadership roles at Motorola as Lead Lady and ITT Courier, where her dedication and work ethic were admired by many. After years of commitment to her profession, her heart ultimately guided her to retire to care for her beloved husband, Jesus "Chito" Sordia, and of course was able to proudly embrace her favorite job title known as “mom”!

Her nurturing spirit and boundless love created an enduring legacy that will be cherished forever. She leaves behind her devoted children: Jesse R. Sordia, Freddie R. Sordia, Rosemary Brown, Danny Ray Sordia, and Robert D. Sordia. In addition, her spirit will live on through her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, who carry forward her values of kindness, compassion, and strength.

Beatrice was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her parents, Albert G. Rodriguez and Rita A. Alvarez, husband, Jesus "Chito" Sordia, and her sons, Michael J. Sordia and Richard A. Sordia. Their memories will remain a cherished part of her legacy.

Friends and family are invited to honor her memory at the following services: A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM with Rosary prayers at 6:00 PM, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ. Funeral Mass will take place the next day, Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 909 E. Washington St., Phoenix, AZ. Burial will immediately follow the Mass at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St., in Phoenix.

Her legacy of love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends, who are forever grateful for the time shared and the lessons learned, in the 94 years the world was blessed to have her.
