Class aboard the U.S.S. Attu. He homesteaded in the Paradise Valley area with his wife Teresa, brother Frank and sister-in-law Anita, raising cotton and chilies and was active in the Arizona Cotton Growers Association.  He became Purchasing Agent for Thomas Heating & Air Conditioning until his retirement.  He is survived by sisters Ann Cortopassi of Sacramento, CA and Mary Mulvihill of Surprise, AZ, Teresa, his wife of 65 years, his two daughters Andrea Bergero of Atlanta, GA and Debra Motta of Paradise Valley, and his two grandchildren Kelly Servick and Anthony Motta. He is preceded in death by his brother Frank Bergero and sister Josephine Donato.  Services will be held at the Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd, Phoenix, Arizona, 85018 on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation an hour in advance.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley. www.hov.org.
