It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Joseph Boillot, who passed away on July 25, 2023 at the age of 94 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Born Feb 16, 1929 in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri to Irene and Lester Boillot. After graduating from the University of Missouri with a degree in Journalism. He made his way to Luke Air Force Base and worked in the information office.

Shortly after, he met the love of his life Patricia at a U.S.O. dance at Luke Air Force Base. They were married in 1952. He was then stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany for two years during the Korean War. They returned home to Scottsdale, AZ where they spent the next 70 years building a beautiful life and family.

Donald retired from Arizona Public Service in 1990 after 34 years in a Public Relations role.

Don, an avid sports fan, grew up a St. Louis Cardinals Fan, adopted the Arizona Sports Teams as his own. He especially liked Arizona State University and was a Sun Angel for many years.

Donald was an athlete himself having competed in track at the collegiate level in Missouri and was a member of the music club. He was also very involved with his church St. Daniel the Prophet, where he headed up the prayer group for many years. Don’s hobbies included photography and signing. His favorite camera was the medium format Rolleiflex. He enjoyed big band music and often sang along with Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett songs.

Donald is survived by his children David, Michael, Lynn, Chris, and Suzanne. He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia, parents Irene and Lester, infant sisters Elva May and Juanita, son John, and grandson Allan.

Donald was the proud grandfather of 10 grandkids; Daniel, Natalie, Jason, Levi, Phillip, Nicole, Danielle, James, Jason and Jon. He had 12 great grandchildren Jackson, William, Scarlett, Zoey, James, Isaac, Ava, Corom, Eliza, Natalie, Anna, and Benjamin.

Visiting Hours will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home at 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix on Thursday August 10, 2023 from 5-7pm concluding with a rosary. Mass will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 10:30am at St. Daniel the Prophet, 1310 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ. Condolences may be expressed at www.whitneymurphyfuneralhome.com.
