Lois Marie Braun

Lois Marie Braun, 100, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2020 at her residence in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on August 21, 1920 in Ursa, Illinois. Her parents were George W. Colvin and Cora A. (Grimes) Colvin Menke. She was married for 51 years to Werner W. Braun and they moved to Arizona from Quincy, Illinois in 1979. Lois graduated from Mendon Township High School and Gem City Business College in Quincy. She spent nearly her entire career working as a legal secretary both in Illinois and Arizona. She was a devoted member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, remaining active in a chapter well-into her eighties.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sisters, Marjorie Evans and Pauline Dudley; a brother Kenneth Colvin; and a special niece Marsha Sue Wollbrink. She is survived by her daughter Gretchen Anne Evans (Dietmar), two granddaughters Heather Marie Jansen (Thomas) and Megan Anne Morgan (Peter), and two great grandchildren, Henry Jansen and Hayden Jansen.

Lois was loved by her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed. Private services are graveside at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona where she will be buried with her husband.
