It is with deepest sadness that we share the passing of Brennan Carmody Crane on April 21st, 2024. Brennan passed on at home surrounded by family and friends after an indescribably valiant fight against pancreatic cancer. Brennan was a dearly beloved, son, brother, cousin and friend. A Phoenix native and graduate of Brophy College Preparatory, Brennan will be remembered dearly forever for his relentless wit, endless good humor and limitless compassion and empathy. Brennan was a passionate aficionado of Phoenix sports. Sitting in the sunshine at a spring training game or cheering in the stands at the Purple Palace, Brennan was truly in his element. His love for the Suns is exemplified by the name he chose for his dog, whom he cared for dearly, Booker.
Brennan had the unique and innate ability to make everyone who knew him feel like his oldest and closest friend. Brennan moved through the world in his daily life putting smiles on the faces of strangers, who quite often did not remain strangers for long after meeting Brennan. An unforgettable presence, Brennan left an indelible mark on all of his friends he made in his years in New York, New Jersey and Flagstaff. They are forever grateful for the laughter and light that Brennan brought into their lives. Brennan’s dear friends in Phoenix, many of whom have been by his side since childhood, fully understand the remarkable human being and steadfast friend that Brennan was. His passing leaves a void in his family that can only be filled by the collective efforts of everyone to laugh that much louder, to learn that much more, to love more easily and deeply, to fill the world with a little more joy and color, because there is no one person who can ever be everything Brennan was nor give everything he gave to the world. Brennan is survived by his cherished mother Sheila, his beloved brothers Patrick and Devin, a host of cousins he loved like siblings and innumerable friends who Brennan knew as family.
Brennan’s Remembrance Service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 27th at the Brophy College Preparatory Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to honor Brennan with a contribution in support of The Hospice of the Valley or the Brophy Foundation.
