Brian Keith Kohrs

Brian Keith Kohrs, born on November 8,1964, in Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024, at the age of 60. Brian’s life was a tapestry of joy, adventure, and deep connections with those he loved. He is survived by his devoted parents, Leland and Marie, his sister Kathleen (David), and his brothers Bob (Linda), Roger (Ellen), Tom (Annette), and John (Leigh). His legacy continues through his cherished nephews Robert (Denise), Jacob, Brian, Holden, and Lucas, and his adored nieces Megan (Stuart), Britlin, Ashley, Lauren, and Sophia. Brian’s grand nephew Hank and grand nieces Lux, Charlotte, Stevie, and Emmylou will always remember him with fondness and love.

Brian’s educational journey took him through St. Francis Grade School, Central High School, Phoenix College, and Northern Arizona University. He was a standout athlete, forming lifelong friendships along the way.

A lover of the outdoors, Brian found happiness in riding dirt bikes, water skiing, and snow skiing. He delighted in sharing these passions with his nephews and their friends, teaching them to ride mini bikes in his brother John’s backyard. His remote control cars and trucks brought endless joy to his grand nephew Hank and grand niece Charlotte.

Music was a source of solace and joy for Brian, and his talent for playing the guitar was a gift he cherished throughout his life, especially in his later years.

Brian wore many hats in his professional life, finding fulfillment in coaching basketball at St. Francis Grade School and the YMCA, working in the medical supply field, taking on roles at Coors Distributing Company and Daniels. He was also a skilled house painter and general handyman. 

His sense of humor and warm spirit will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who surrounded him with love and support during his final weeks.

A service to celebrate Brian’s life will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 5:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Ryan House, a Hospice of the Valley facility, at ryanhouse.org.
