Arthur "Bud" Clifford

Arthur “Bud” Clifford, beloved father, husband and friend, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024. He was 87 years old. 

Bud was born on February 14, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan to Arthur & Petrina Clifford. He grew up in a close-knit family, was the youngest of 3 children and brother to Rosemarie and Bernadette. He married in 1957 and had four children, Nancy, James, Daniel and Michael. In 1967 he moved his young family to Scottsdale, Arizona and began building his career and lifelong friendships. 

In 1981 Bud married his devoted wife, Martha, and gained four more children through marriage, Kelley, Debra, Jeffrey and Krissy. Throughout the years, his large, combined family enjoyed many holidays and family gatherings in his beloved Pinetop. 

Professionally, Bud was very successful in the real estate Title business and owned United Title headquartered in Phoenix. He eventually sold that business, retired and focused on family, friends and his golf handicap! Bud loved all sports but was especially passionate about two: baseball and golf. He loved the Diamondbacks and even played baseball in the Detroit Tigers organization. Bud would watch every Dback game and was thrilled at their 2023 World Series run. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed many golf trips with dear friends and countless rounds at his favorite clubs, Paradise Valley and White Mountain Country Clubs. 

Bud was always the life of the party, mostly because he always had a joke handy. Dad jokes, colorful jokes….you name it, he could tell it like no other. He was everyone’s friend and always could be counted on if you needed him. Bud will be greatly missed for his passion for life, his generosity and his unwavering love for his family. His legacy of family, hard work and dedication to his wife and friends will continue to inspire all who knew him. 

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Marti; his children, Nancy, Jim, Dan and Michael; his stepchildren, Kelley, Debbie, Jeff and Krissy, 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road in Phoenix on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 19, 2024, at Valley View Bible Church, 4222 E. Lincoln Drive in Paradise Valley, Arizona at 10:00am with a Celebration of Life gathering at Arizona Country Club following the service.

Bud’s family would like to extend their heartfelt love and gratitude to the many caregivers who provided compassionate care to him during his last months. He loved you like family.
