Charles “Danny” Bugh, born January 28, 1941, to Richard Charles Bugh and Aurelia Bugh. He was the second oldest child. Danny graduated from Phoenix Union High School Tech, where he studied drafting. Right out of high school, he joined the Service.
When he came back from his service time, he worked for the Arizona Highway Department. Civil Engineering Consultants around town all without a degree. Given the chance to work together, his best friend, Julian Sanchez was right there with him.
Danny went to Phoenix College to get his degree in Civil Engineering and retired from the City of Phoenix after years of working at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. While working for the city, he was loaned out to other projects that helped the infrastructure throughout Arizona. Such as, his work on the Roosevelt Dam and Bridge and other airports around the state.
In his retirement, he was an active member of the American Legion Post 41. There he helped revitalize the Post itself, worked hard to help recruit members. Danny was a strong member of the Legion’s 40 & 8. Keeping the train in parades to help keep the History of this Nation alive. He was voted as Commander not once but twice. In 2015, Danny became The Arizona State Commander. In that role Danny helped educate Congress on how poor our Nation’s Veterans health care system was. Danny continued to serve his Post up until his last day.
On September 15th, 2022, Danny was diagnosed with a very rare type of Palsy, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Ironically, the health care system he worked so hard to improve could do nothing for him. Danny lost his battle on May 16th, 2023.
Danny is survived by his son Matthew Bugh, his daughter Natalie Bugh (Dale McCormick); his five grandchildren; David Rodriguez (Camile), Michael Rodriguez, Matthew Cody Curtin, Erin Solomon, Morgan Solomon and his two great grandchildren Alexis Rodriguez and Kelley Rodriguez.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1954 N 24th Street, Phoenix. Burial to follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at 12:30 PM at 23029 N Cave Creek Road, Phoenix.
