Glenn Clifford Bush

Glenn Clifford Bush passed away peacefully on January 8, 2023, after a short illness. He was born October 5, 1928, in Rolla North Dakota to Irene Jacobson Bush and Clifford Bush. After surviving polio while living in Seattle his family moved to Phoenix in 1941. Glenn attended Murphy Grade School and Phoenix Union High School before graduating from the University of Arizona with an engineering degree. He was hired by Yost and Gardner Engineers as a Civil Engineer and eventually became a partner. During his 55-year tenure served as the City Engineer for Goodyear and Wickenburg.

In 1953 he met and after a three-month courtship, married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) Errington. They were later blessed with three children, Barbara, David, and Susan. He became an active member of Paradise Valley United Methodist Church for 49 years. Where he served as a Trustee, Yard Bird, Youth Leader(UMYC), and Saguaro, as well as many other roles.

Glenn was a supportive and loving father. He also was an active and avid grandparent that not only attended but enjoyed attending any event his grandchildren participated in. Lovingly called “Poppie”, he never missed an opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren which they reciprocated.

After retirement, he and Betty committed themselves to others through UMOM and Wesley Community Center. While working with UMOM, he stumbled upon a new hobby of building doll houses for the benefit of raising money for charities. Glenn built many dollhouses that enriched multiple lives.

He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his wife, Betty, of 69 years, children: Barbara, David (Lynn), and Susan Bush, grandchildren: Emily Farren (Miles), Patrick (Maggie), Benjamin, Johnathon, and Henry Bush, and great-grandson Jack Farren.
