Matilda “Tillie” V. Cabrera

Matilda “Tillie” V Cabrera, 89, of Tempe, passed away on January 13, 2019. She was born to Arnulfo and Refugio Villaverde in Miami, Arizona on November 19, 1929. She was married to Manuel Salcido for 13 years and Joe Cabrera for 40 years. She owned a dry cleaners and a boutique. Tillie enjoyed working on crafts, decorating for the holidays, traveling and was known for her fantastico salsa. She is preceded in death by her husbands’ Manuel and Joe and son Manuel Salcido. She is survived by her daughters’ Lupita, Yvonne and Yolanda, step-daughters’ Sandy and Sarah, multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and her siblings Richard, Yolanda and Olivia. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 909 E. Washington Street, Phoenix. A reception will follow. Cemetery services will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Noon at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix.
