Joseph S Cacioppo

79, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, February 3, 2011. Joe was born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 24, 1931 to the late Salvatore and Lucille Cacioppo. He graduated from Lane Tech in Chicago in 1949. Joe was a veteran of the US Army and served in Europe during the Korean War. Joe married his childhood sweetheart Tiejte Goss in 1954. Joe and Tietje enjoyed thirty years of marriage. Tiejte preceded Joe into heaven in 1984. They have four children: Robert, Michael, Jill, Anthony; six grandchildren: Christopher, Daniel, Caitlyn, Hilary, Ryan, Gianna and one great-grandchild: Aiden. Joe is also survived by his son-in-law Gary; daughter-in-laws: Michelle, Christina, Pamela, Janis and his companion and confidant, Lydia, and son Michael. He moved his family to Arizona in 1977 and continued his career as a meat cutter and retired from Bashas’ Grocery. To celebrate Joe’s life, a visitation will be held from 6-9pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd, Thursday, February 10, 2011. Funeral Service will be held at 1pm Friday, February 11, 2011, Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home. Graveside Service immediately following at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N 48th Street.
