Carol Passmore Pike Foster passed to her Savior on Sunday, June 18, 2023. She was born in Glen Cove, New York, on December 27, 1936. The family moved several times, settling in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Carol graduated from City High School there, and from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, Georgia, with a BA degree in art. She returned to Chattanooga, where she met her husband, Richard Foster. They were married on January 15, 1959. She worked in the Art Department of the Chattanooga Times.
The Fosters moved to the southwest in 1971, where Carol worked for the State of Arizona in the Public Relations Department. She was a gifted artist, and she loved to sing, participating in the choir at Fellowship Square in Phoenix. She was a devout Christian and an active member of Orangewood Presbyterian Church in Phoenix.
Carol was predeceased by her husband; her parents, Frances and Lloyd Pike; and brothers-in-law Ronald Riley, John Foster, and Donald Foster. Survivors include sisters Rebecca Pike Riley of Bedford, Virginia; and Elmira Pike Goforth (Darrell) of Savannah, Georgia; and dear friends and assistants Dirk and Jeannie Oosterwyk; and Dennis Daniel.
Carol will be buried in a private ceremony at Orangewood Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at Fellowship Square, 2002 W. Sunnyside Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. Chaplain Dr. Tom Haney will officiate.
