With great sadness we announce that our mother, LaDeane Osler Casey, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 1, 2018, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Mom was born in Griswold, IA, on May 27, 1926, to Lon and Delia Osler.
LaDeane married her childhood sweetheart, Donald J. Casey, D.V.M., in 1947, upon his return from service with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific theatre. They were married 71 years! After first raising their six children in Iowa, LaDeane returned to college at the age of 50 and earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Drake University. The family then moved to Paradise Valley where she earned her Ph.D. from Arizona State University. For the next 25 years, LaDeane was practicing psychologist, while Don practiced veterinary medicine, both in Scottsdale. They have been residents at the Vi @ Silverstone in north Scottsdale.
LaDeane is survived by Don and five of her six children Kent (Amy), Robert, Diane Casey Maloney, Donna (Bruce) Tait, and Mark (Caroline), son-in-law Craig Larsen, nine grandchildren Dylan (Liz) and Brook Casey, Kelleen and Greg (Kassandra) Tait, W.J., Sean (Kerri), and Connor Maloney, and Charlotte and Ruby Casey, two great-granddaughters Ella and Harper Casey, and many Casey nieces and nephews.
LaDeane was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Janice Casey Larsen, a sister and brother-in-law Lela and Howard Limbaugh, and their daughter/her niece Lois Limbaugh Jones.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date with burial in Griswold, IA.
