Catherine Jansa

Catherine Jansa passed away on January 27, 2024. Catherine was 91 years old and the beloved wife of the late Robert Jansa. She was the loving mother of Glenn (Vivian), Keith (Nancy), and Maria (Darin). She was the proud grandmother to Matthew, Nicholas, Ariana, Janae, and Nathan. She is survived by her sister Florence Krych.

Catherine along with her identical twin sister, Mary Ann (deceased 1997) attended and graduated from Our Lady of Sorrows Grade School, followed by Providence High School, Chicago IL. In 1950. She attended two years at Morton College.

She and her family moved next door to a man and his family who became her friend, they courted and in 1952 married in Cicero IL. They started raising their family in Stickney IL. They eventually moved to Phoenix AZ after retirement.

Although Catherine and Robert retired from career long jobs with GE (Hot Point), and Catherine, raising her children as well as working for TWA and other travel agencies. She was well known as the “nurse mother” to all the kids growing up in the neighborhood.

After the move to AZ. they quickly began working for the Phoenix Suns, and the America West Arena for many years, Including the AZ Diamond Backs World Series. She loved her time working those events as GSR’s.

The families hope is that Mom will meet up with Dad as she wished from his service, and they begin to share heaven together.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 6P.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home 4800 E Indian School Rd. Phoenix AZ. 85018.
