Christine Madrid, age 67, passed away on Sunday May 12, 2024. She was born on July 11, 1956, in Phoenix, Arizona to Ignacio F. Madrid and Alicia l. Reyna. Christine came from a large family which included five brothers and four sisters. She grew up in the Marco's De Niza neighborhood in Phoenix.
As a young girl, Christine assumed the role of care giver when her mother fell ill with liver disease. Christine was not able to finish school. Christine had never married but was a very strong independent woman. Everyone who knew her, knew her to always speak her mind; and would tell you what you needed to hear.
She loved to be with her family and friends having barbecues, singing, and laughing, dancing, and making jokes. Christine had a big personality, and everyone loved it. She loved Chinese food. And she was an amazing cook! She also was a homemaker and took care of her son, Edward; who was born with MSUD. She also cared for her grandkids, and she absolutely loved them all!
Christine loved life and enjoyed spending time with family. She loved the holidays and especially loved decorating her home. She was certainly a person who looked out for everyone; never without a hesitation. Christine was a genuine woman who wanted the absolute best for her family.
The loss of Christine has left a void in our hearts, and we will miss her dearly.
Christine is survived by her daughter's Alice Leyvas Osife, Samantha Facio; extended daughters Josefina Banda and Andronica Leyvas; and her son's Gabriel Madrid, Eleazar Alaniz, Demetrio Olivas, Edward J Alaniz Jr.; 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sisters Sylvia Navarro, Camille Ingallinas; brother Michael Madrid, and Leonard Madrid.
