Christopher Michael Fahrendorf

Christopher Michael Fahrendorf Sr. passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 19th. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John and Sheila Fahrendorf; his in-laws, Darrel and Elizabeth Burch; and his siblings, John Fahrendorf Jr. and Joanne Darby. He is survived by his wife, Carol, and their five sons: Christopher (Alisha), Gregory (Peggy), Kevin (Rachel), Matthew (Fallon), and Timothy (Santa), 18 grandchildren, and siblings Kathy Hargrave (Lee) and Julie Farrell (Patrick). 

Chris was born on January 20, 1955, in Glendale, AZ. He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, Saint Mary's High School, and Grand Canyon University. After graduating, he built a long and successful career with APS and Southwest Gas. 

Chris was best known for his steadfast devotion to his high school sweetheart and wife of 50 years, Carol, whom he kept laughing since 1971 with his dry sense of humor. A tireless provider, he was a constant example of what it means to be a great Catholic husband and father. He was a steady force in the family, a firm but fair father, a gentle and attentive grandfather, and a world-class talent on the grill. In retirement, Chris developed a love for horse racing and a knack for handicapping, and he always had a story to tell about the big payday that just barely escaped him. He will be greatly missed, but his presence will live in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved him.

 A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Phoenix, AZ, on Saturday, March 8th at 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., respectively, with a reception immediately following in St. Joseph Hall. Burial will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
