H. Eileen Cochran of Phoenix, Arizona, a retired real estate broker, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013. She was born to Lionel and Helena Burke, now deceased, in St. Louis, Missouri. She married J. Richard Cochran (Dick) in December, 1962 and moved to Phoenix, Arizona to begin their new life together. She is survived by her children, J. Richard, Jr., Philip M., and Patrick L. Cochran, M. Eileen Bowles, and Kathleen F. Cochran, whose husband Andy is also mentioned as Eileen loved him as one on her own. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, all very special in their own right, as well as one great grandson, Ryder Patrick, who blessed us with his arrival on July 19
th
. We will always remember Eileen’s face as she held Ryder for the first time. In addition, she had one “step-in” daughter, Elizabeth Cole Sonneveld, and many family friends whom she loved as her own. She will be remembered as a strong, but stubborn, loyal, and hard-working individual who was honest yet sincere. She had a big heart, never knowing a stranger. She strove to teach us all about the sense of fairness, justice, and equality as well as the value of having an education. Thanks to her family and friends who came to her aid in her time of need (you know who you are), as well as the individual medical professionals who treated her with dignity and respect, including (but not an exhaustive list): Grigory Horonenko, Jr., D.O., Thomas Daniels, M.D., and John Williams, M.D. Eileen was a giver but did learn in her later years to be a gracious “receiver”. A private service will be held a later date. In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, if you would like to made a donation in Eileen’s honor, please do so at http:
