William Anderson Comstock, Jr., known as “JR” to family and friends, age 28, of Phoenix, Arizona lost his life but gained peace on Saturday, July 1, 2023. He was the beloved son of William (Bill) and Sheri Comstock of Little River, SC and brother of Courtney Comstock, Phoenix, AZ. JR was born on April 19, 1995 in Salem, Oregon.
JR attended school in both Noblesville, Indiana and Greencastle, Pennsylvania. JR was a 2013 Graduate of Noblesville High School; Noblesville, Indiana and completed numerous professional certifications in the mental health field.
JR spent his brief life helping others. He built his background in community service as a boy scout and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed learning and participating with his friends, father, and cousin in many scouting experiences. He participated in two of scouting’s High Adventure experiences: Sea Base in the Florida Keys and Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimmaron, New Mexico.
His passion for helping others forged the way for him to become a respectful and respected mental health professional. He was employed in mental health facilities in Delray Beach, Florida, Berwick, PA, and Phoenix, AZ. He held positions of Behavioral Health Technician, Care Coordinator, and Case Manager. He hoped one day to start a mental health business with his sister, Courtney, to help the forgotten.
JR was also known as the funny, handsome, charismatic guy who was always there in someone’s time of need, be it a friend or stranger. He was an avid internet gamer and was a talented improv impressionist/impersonator for those that were fortunate to experience one of his sessions. He also had a love for animals and shared a special bond with his pets: Grizwald, Casper, Mr. Pugsley, and Oliver. He enjoyed hiking and most recently fell in love with fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed being part of a team and did his best to help others be successful.
JR is survived by his parents, William (Bill) and Sheri Comstock, Little River, SC and his sister Courtney Comstock, with whom he shared a home in Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by his Uncles John Musser (Mifflinville, PA), Kenneth Musser (Hetlerville, PA), Mark (wife Tina) Comstock (Orangeville, PA), Robert (Bobby) Comstock, Jr. (Orangeville, PA), Miles Comstock (Paradis, LA) and an Aunt Donna (husband Thomas) Murphy of Little River, SC. He is also survived by many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Gloria Musser of Bloomsburg, PA and Robert and Rose Comstock of Orangeville, PA. He was also predeceased by his aunt, Carol Moyle of Bloomsburg, PA.
The family intends on having three Celebrations of JR’s Life: one in Phoenix in the very near future; one in the Indianapolis Area, and one in Pennsylvania. The celebrations in Indianapolis and Pennsylvania will be in the late August or September timeframe. Please share this post to help spread the word as JR had many friends in many circles.
