Dolores Duran Cooney

Dolores Duran Cooney 1932-2018, affectionately known as “DeeDee”, passed away to her heavenly reward on March 27, 2018. A lifelong devotion to God, St. Francis, and the Blessed Mother enabled her to carry her Christian duty without questioning Gods purpose for her. Each day Dolores would recite the rosary, and ask the Blessed Mother to protect her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and everyone in need of help. Dolores is survived by her sisters Mary Ann Mazon and her husband Paul; her sister Lupita Duran; daughter Mary Ann Harris; sons David Rodriguez, David Cooney, & Rory Cooney; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, & other extended family and many good friends. A celebration of DeeDee’s life will begin with a Visitation on Wednesday April 4, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the Rosary at 7:00 P.M at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Mary’s Basilica, 231 N. Third Street, Phoenix. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Grateful thanks to Linda & Tom Raimundo, much more than good friends of DeeDee, for the loving care & support she received during her remaining years; as well as Kimberly, Corrina, Rebecca, Mariah, Shana & Carla, all supportive caregivers at The Stratford.
