Sr. Stephen Allan Currier

Stephen (known by Steve on the day to day) was born on January 28, 1962 to Blyn and Lucille Currier in Skowhegan, Maine.

Steve was known and loved by so many throughout his life. Serving his country in the Marine Corps and his community in the United States Postal Service, he lived a life of service unto others. His love language to all he came in contact with was Acts of Service. Whether he was replacing a set of batteries for you or taking on a major project, it was clear he loved to serve those he loved and came in contact with.

Steve married the love of his life, Glenda, on October 12, 1985. The moment they met, they heard wedding bells ringing and never left each other’s side. They built a life to call their own in Yuma, AZ where they met. Together, they would become parents to Stephen and Stephanie. His children were his pride and joy. From sports and performance support to graduations and accomplishments, one thing was for sure, Steve was a present loving father.

“Uncle Steve” or “Nino” were some special roles he played to a special set of nephews and nieces. He found joy in making memories, making jokes, and telling stories that included them. Most of all, he loved to be the Uncle/Nino that they could always come to if they ever needed him.

Just when he thought he had it all, Steve would meet the greatest phase of his life, he became a “Tata”. The love of a grandchild would become Steve’s greatest joy. Carson, Jackson, Presley, and Amelia would fill this Tata’s heart with love and joy unending. He never skipped a beat. From sitting on the living room floor coloring or playing with toys to trips to aquariums and first experiences, he loved every moment with them to his very last breath.

Steve passed away on May 29, 2023 and was proceeded in death by his mother Lucille Currier.

He is survived by: His loving wife Glenda Currier, his son Stephen Currier Jr (Brenda), his daughter Stephanie Maillet (Paul), his grandchildren Carson Currier, Jackson Currier, Presley Currier, Amelia Maillet, and Andrew Maillet. His father, Blyn Currier and siblings Robert, Patty, and Cathy. His sister in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday June 9, 2023 at 4:00 pm at Elks Lodge 476 – 1917 W 32nd Street Suite 1 Yuma, AZ 85364.
