It is with great sadness to announce that David “Dave” Michael Amari ascended into Heaven on May 19, 2024. Dave was born on September 24, 1955 at Chanute Air Force Base, Illinois to Dori and Bill Amari. Dave’s dad, Bill was in the Air Force which afforded the family to travel extensively within the United States and Okinawa and the Phillippines. Dave spoke about these times with sincere pride and sentiment.
He attended high school at Mascoutah High in Illinois where he met many life-long friends, including the “Mascoutah” boys whom he spoke of fondly and with great admiration. Dave was reunited with many of his classmates of 1973 last year when we traveled to the 50th class reunion. We had a terrific time and had planned a return visit.
Dave moved to Phoenix at the age of 18 to attend ASU. He was a proud member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity where he made life-bonding friends. Each year these friends traveled to an out of state ASU football game. Dave truly enjoyed being with the “ASU” guys.
While at ASU he attained a Bachelor and Master’s degree. Very proud achievements for him and his family.
Dave worked at the Phoenix Police department and Surprise police department for 21 and 2.5 years, respectively. He also worked as a consultant to various police departments while a proud member of ISO. He especially enjoyed consulting at the Houston PD, where he met another life-long friend.
Dave enjoyed traveling, reading David Baldacci books, sports (Diamondbacks/Red Sox, Suns, Coyotes) trips to the white mountains in the RV, and spending time with his family whom he loved dearly. Dave was a most kind, generous, selfless man who was loved and admired by so many. My sweet, sweet Dave, you will remain in my heart forever…not all heroes wear capes.
Dave leaves behind his beloved wife, Bea, beloved granddaughter, Miki, Brother Steve (Susan), many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many family members and friends.
