Born August 27, 1930 in Olathe, Kansas to Kendall and Mary Louise (Clarke) Day, passed away on February 3, 2011 in Phoenix, AZ at the age of 80. Ken worked for many years as a field superintendent for International Surfacing, Inc. and was a veteran who served in the United States Navy as a helicopter crew member during the Korean War. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and particularly loved exploring the least traveled portions of our beautiful state. He is survived by Nedra his wife of 51 years; sons Kevin (Becky) Day and Brian Day and daughter Kelly (Steve) McCreary; grandsons Kyle Day and Kendall Day and granddaughters Kelsey Day, Ryan (Jack) Egan, Tara McCreary, Kaitlyn McCreary and Taylor McCreary; bothers Richard Day and Michael (Brenda) Day and sister Paula Day. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Brophy Chapel, 4701 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Beatitudes Campus of Care, 1610 W. Glendale Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85021 would be appreciated.
