Jim Demetros, 70, passed away in the early morning of April 19, 2017. Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be forever remembered for his kind heart and caring soul. Jim was born April 17, 1947 in Detroit, MI. He later served in the Army with the Explosive Ordinance Division and was honorably discharged. He moved to Minnesota and studied at Dunwoody Institute and moved to Arizona in the early 1970s to start a new life in the Desert.
Jim recently retired after 37 years with Honeywell International as a design engineer, a job he always enjoyed due to his love of engineering and the great friendships he developed there. He leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Valerie, and his children, Amy and Kit (and recent addition, Adam). His father, William, his brother, Nick, his sister, Joanne Smith, and many nieces and nephews as well as three great-nieces and a great-nephew also survive him. He was loved by so many, and will be missed intensely. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ.
