Laura Devany

Laura Devany, age 45, died unexpectantly on January 21, 2016. She had been a resident of Arizona since 1997 and at the present time was residing in Mesa.

Laura was born in Summit, New Jersey in 1970. She attended Penn State University, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. This was followed by a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication from Arizona State University.

During her years in Arizona, Laura served in public relations positions at several places, including the Maricopa County Environmental Service Department, the Phoenix City Council, the Alliance for School Choice, the Arizona Majority in the State Senate, First Things First, and Arizona State University. She had just begun a job at Touchstone Behavioral Health as Marketing and Communications Specialist.

Laura is survived by her parents, Decker and Susan Goetz of Summerfield, FL, her brother Peter Goetz of Nantucket, MA, and nephews Alex, Anders, and Connor Goetz of Scituate, MA.   She will be remembered as a beautiful, smart, and caring person and a loyal friend.   Also, she had a special place in her heart for her precious dogs. All will miss her lovely smile and wonderful sense of humor.

A Visitation will be take place on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 6:00 pm with a Memorial Service following at 7:00 pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix.
