Nancy (Anne) Rita Donaghy

Nancy (Anne) Rita Donaghy nee Broderick was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 10, 1929. She died on October 19, 2021. She was, as Phil Silvers so aptly wrote in a lyric, “Nancy (With the Laughing Face).”

She is survived by her daughter Kathleen M., her son Michael T., her sister-in-law Betty Broderick, 18 nieces and nephews, 51 great nieces and nephews, and 23 great-great nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her husband Michael, father Joseph, mother Helen, brothers Bud, John and Tom, and sisters Jeanne Burns, Mary Conley and Helen Giacomelli.

Nancy was an avid volunteer at St. Theresa’s Church, The Christ Child Society and in former years, the Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and Phoenix Little Theater.

Friends and neighbors may attend the viewing on Tuesday evening, October 26, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at St. Theresa Church, 5045 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix. Interment to follow at the VA National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
