Eduardo Francisco Ramirez

Eddie F. Ramirez “Papa” peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the age of 86.  He was born on October 4, 1937 and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Eddie was the youngest of his siblings and was preceded in death by his parents Eduardo M. and Petra Ruiz Ramirez; brother Robert (Chris); sisters Eva Chavez (Bob), Irene Zamora (Jesus) and Dolores Morales (Ernie).  

Eddie was a loved, cherished and respected husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother and friend.  He will be greatly missed and  is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dalia; his children Dan (Diana), Tom (Sandra), DeAnna Ortiz (Joe) and Gilbert; grandchildren Joseph Ortiz, Melissa Ramirez, Celina Cortez (Jason), Lauren Ramirez, Ariana Holland (Bryan); Vincent Ramirez (Allison) and Daniel Ramirez (Krystal); great-grandchildren Angelo, Zianya, Marcellus, Demetri, Evalyn, Daniel, Donovan, Camree, Easton, Vesper and Damon and many nieces and nephews.
 

He attended and promoted/graduated from Emerson Elementary School, Phoenix Union High School (formerly Phoenix Tech) and Phoenix College.  Eddie worked in the medical field as an equipment technician/installer for Spacelabs heart monitors.  In addition, he was a successful business owner of Peerless TV & Medical Electronics for decades. He proudly served in the Army National Guard for eight years and was very supportive of all veterans. Eddie was a true family man who enjoyed every opportunity to go vacationing, camping and fishing with his family.  He always enjoyed his family on the weekends while grilling and watching his Sun Devils, Cardinals and Diamondbacks play.

His life will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, 10815 North 35th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona.  Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery located at 9925 West Thomas Road, Avondale, Arizona.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of the Valley.
