In loving memory of Edward Robert Felix Junior, a kind and gentle soul, who was called home by the Lord on April 3rd, 2024. Edward was born on November 28, 1956 in Phoenix, Arizona. An Arizona native, and straight A student, Edward attended St. Mary Basha Elementary, Chandler High School, and Arizona State University. He worked for the family business, Bashas’ Markets, since he was a very young boy, holding various positions within the company throughout his life, showing dedication until his recent retirement.
His passion for sports was evident, with a particular talent for baseball and golf, excelling as a self- taught scratch golfer who achieved remarkable success, including a memorable hole in one. He was very intelligent, and beyond sports, Edward enjoyed strategic thinking games, excelling in word and card games, and showcasing his intelligence. He was an avid and skilled poker player and was even banned from a casino due to his card counting abilities.
Born and raised Catholic, Eddie took pride in his faith, participating as an altar boy in his younger years. His faith evolved alongside him, reflecting in his daily actions and interactions with others. Known for his kindness, consideration for others’ feelings, soft-spoken demeanor, and ability to make everyone feel valued. He truly embodied the motto “treat others as you would want to be treated” in his daily life, serving as a genuine testament to that principle. Witnessing his actions and words, was a lesson in the ‘Golden Rule’, you could learn how to treat others simply by observing him.
Eddie was a simple and pragmatic thinker, carefully planning his thoughts before speaking. He reserved his words until he had something important and significant to contribute on a subject. He was a man of few, but impactful words. Known for his well-planned and thoughtful communication, often positioned him as the voice of reason and common sense. Edward found his greatest joy when surrounded by his family, especially during celebratory occasions like birthdays and holidays. Those times of celebration will now bear a large void in our hearts without him.
Eddie will be sorely missed by his devoted son, Joshua Felix; his sister Denise Vance (Dell); his brothers Larry Felix, and Mike Felix (Susan Lubomirski); cherished nieces and nephew, Lauren Felix, Alexis Earnhardt, (Bull), Danelle Lavin (Matt), Brennan Vance (Meghan), and numerous cousins, and a large extended family. Edward was preceded in death by his loving parents, Edward “Sonny” and Louise Felix. There will be a Celebration of Life, honoring the life of Edward Felix, on Tuesday, April 23rd, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85012, at 10:00 AM.
May his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. “You don’t have to move mountains. You will change the world just by being a warm, kind-hearted human being”. (Krizzan)
