Edward B. Vallone II “Ted”

Paradise Valley – Ted Vallone passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 24, 2025 at the age of 85. Born on November 23, 1939 in Harrisburg, PA to Edward B Vallone and Helen Congrove. Ted grew up in Buffalo, NY. Graduating high school from Nichols Prep.

After attending two years at Trinity College in Connecticut, Ted moved to Arizona to pursue his dream of becoming a cowboy. While attending the University of Arizona, he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and worked as a ranch hand.

After college, Ted went on to become convention manager at Camelback Inn, helping to coordinate the election event for Barry Goldwater’s presidential nomination.

Ted did his brokerage training in New York with EF Hutton and later became president of Young Smith and Peacock, where he worked for 20 years. While in this position, he was a member of Young Presidents Organization and served on the Men’s Council at ASU College of Business.

Ted’s passion for golf began at age eight while caddying for his father and continued for most of his life. His fondest memories were trips with friends to Pine Valley and the honor of being a Thunderbird. Ted inherited his love of Scotland and the dunes courses from his ancestral great grandfather Ross. He continued his membership at Saint Andrew’s even when he was no longer able to play golf. He loved the tradition of having to wear a blazer and tie to dine in the clubhouse.

Ted had a unique and stylish fashion sense, always impeccably dressed for any and every occasion. In later years, he enjoyed a good cigar and glass of fine whiskey from one of his many collections!

Ted was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Ted will be remembered for his kind and gentle manner, his natural smile and thoughtfulness. He was blessed to have enjoyed a long full life.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 56 years, Donna, by his children E.B. Vallone (Cori), Berkley Vallone, Zach Vallone (Jessica), grandchildren: Cash and Sadie Claflin, Holden and Hailey Vallone, nephew Trevor Williams (Kelly) and great nephew and niece, Gavin and Alaina Williams.

A private family celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Condolences may be posted on the Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home website along with donations in his name to Hospice of The Valley at https://www.hospiceofthevalley.org/donate/donate-now or Homeless Youth Connection https://hycaz.org/give.
