PHOENIX – Rachel Elizondo, 89, passed away peacefully January 29, 2020, surrounded by family. A fourth-generation Arizonan, she is descended from the original settlers of Concho, Ariz. Rachel was born in Phoenix on March 13, 1930 to Arsenia and Zacarias Bezunartea. Rachel is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Ted Elizondo. She is also survived by Sons: Zach and Ted of Phoenix, Robert (Lisa) of Philadelphia and Rick of Los Angeles. Grandchildren: Erick of Miami, Evan of Albuquerque, Ricky of Los Angeles, Stephanie of Phoenix; Henry, Tomas and Zeke of Philadelphia as well as a large extended family. Rachel will be greatly missed and remembered for her dry wit and charm, her intelligence, curiosity, creativity and style and her entrepreneurial spirit and artistic insight. Sociable and outgoing, she had more friends and relatives than one could count—a superb conversationalist, and a lot of fun. Her enthusiasm for business brought her much success in several endeavors.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at St. Ignatius Chapel located at St. Francis Catholic Church, 4715 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix.
