Ruth Arlene Evarts

Ruth Arlene Evarts passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017. She joins her husband, Ray, and her sisters Junice and Trudy. She is survived by her sons Doug, Brian and Mark and her sister Ina. Ruth was a devoted and caring mother and wife who touched all who were fortunate enough to know her. She blessed us all with her grace and friendliness, with her sense of humor and style and with her consideration and caring for other people. Before her retirement she worked as a bookkeeper for several local businesses and as a realtor. But her most fulfilling occupation was when she served as harbormaster at the Marina Eden Isles in Louisiana when she and Ray lived there for several years.

She loved the ocean, collecting shells from beaches in Mexico, Florida and others on the Gulf Coast. Her other hobbies included painting and working with jewelry. There were always projects underway at her house. She also found time for socializing with her golf and bridge clubs and other organizations. Her sons will always treasure the love, care and devotion she showed them. She taught them strength, courage and compassion through her everyday example. We will miss her sense of humor and her constant smile. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix.
