60, of Tempe passed away on November 12, 2014. He was born January 5, 1954 in Gallup, NM, to Bill and Alynne Evans Falkner. Highly is best remembered as a devoted husband and father, a protector, a mentor to many, and a loyal friend. He was passionate and selfless above all else: an outdoorsman, avid cyclist, entrepreneur, philanthropist and a true renaissance man. Highly’s unspoken philosophy was that life was to be lived to the fullest, not endured. Unmatched in wit and humor, his friends and family were in awe of his unparalleled sense of adventure. Both reverent and irreverent, stoic and joyful, he was the light of our lives. Highly is survived by Sally, his wife of 36 years; daughter Emily; son John; daughter Rachel Schwall and son-in-law Tommy Schwall. He is also survived by his brothers Art and Val and sister Dalene and was preceded in death by his brother Roger. Visitation and Rosary will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, from 6-8 P.M., at Seton Catholic Preparatory High School, 1150 N. Dobson Rd., Chandler, AZ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 2121 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Rancho Feliz Charitable Foundation or Maggie’s Place.
