Josephine “Jo” Ferris

Josephine “Jo” Ferris passed peacefully on December 20, 2013. Jo was born Josephine Abraham in central North Dakota to Joseph and Rhoda Abraham on June 12, 1918. She and her

twin brother Joseph were the youngest of seven children. She was married on November 22, 1949, to Albert “Al” Ferris of Sioux City, Iowa, who predeceased her in death in 1990. Residing in Sioux City, Iowa after marrying, Jo and Al had their only child, Scott Ferris, who resides in Scottsdale, Arizona. The couple moved from Sioux City, Iowa to Phoenix, Arizona in 1956. Following Al’s death, she relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona. Jo was a woman of profound faith

and was very outgoing and personable. She enjoyed the company of family, friends and fellow members of her Church. She is survived by her son, Scott, and loving family including members of the Abraham, Ferris, Barkie, Dittmer, Moldenhauer, Lynch, Terzich, Beedy, Nicola, Skaff, Dyer, Iacovelli, Oliver, Hanger, Kellel, and Postel families, as well as the beloved congregation of her Church and her many friends acquired over her 95 years. Service will be held January 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m, at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 4530 East Gold Dust, Scottsdale, Arizona.
