Enrique “Rico” Fierro, passed away peacefully at the age of 90, on August 17, 2021, surrounded by his loving family members. He is preceded in death by his first daughter Patricia, his parents Aurelia and Jose Fierro and Lupe Singh, his brothers: Manuel, Tony, Juan, and sister Candelaria. Rico was born on March 3, 1931, in Cashion, Arizona. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was married to the love of his life Jennie, for 64 years. He proudly worked for McGuckin Drilling as an Operator Engineer and was a proud member of the St. Mary’s Knights Dad’s Club.
Rico is survived by his son Henry Fierro (Mary) and three daughters: Annette Santa Cruz (Ernie), Patsy Pieri (Dean), Veronica “Roni” Ray (Chauncey “Garrett”). He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, his sister Mary Aguirre and 4 half-brothers and sisters. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was so proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He taught us to be hard working and strong minded. We will truly miss our Rico Suavé.
All the services will be held at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, 3424 N. 18th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85015 on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Beginning with the Visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, Rosary Service at 10:00 AM and the Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of the Valley, at 1510 E.
