John Paul Flying Jr, a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend crossed over into the arms of God, the Creator on Monday June 19, 2023.

John was born December 26, 1964, and was a special and unique person. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois where he attended Saint Mary of the Angels in grade school and became a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. John’s family moved to Lame Deer Montana on the Northern Cheyenne reservation with his family in 1978. There he enjoyed playing many sports including Basketball, Softball, Football, and Bowling. While in High School he met the love of his life, Diane Pond. They became high school sweethearts and later married. They just recently celebrated their 30th anniversary on May 29, 2023.

John and Diane both attended The University of Montana, in Missoula, and graduated in 1988. They moved to Palo Alto, California where he worked for a small start-up company known as Intuit. The company developed software such as Quicken, QuickBooks, and Turbo tax. John made many friendships which lasted over 25 years.

He was an avid golfer, Cubs fan, and sports enthusiast. He possessed a very kind, understanding, and accepting demeanor which drew many people to him. John was one of the best friends you could ever have and was a privilege to know. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

John is proceeded in death by both his parents John and Beverly Ann Flying, and is survived by his loving wife Dr. Diane Pond, his loving sister Eva Flying, nephew Mariusz, brother Matthew Flying, Mother-in-Law Doreen Pond, Brother-in-Law Leland Jr DDS/Ida Pond, Uncles Phil/Louise Torres, George/Nance Torres, Aunt Pamala Torres along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Johnny, may you continue to shine forever.
