Robin Forsberg passed away peacefully at home with friends and family near on Friday, August 1, 2014. She was born September 5, 1958, in Phoenix, Arizona to Herb and Betty Forsberg. She spent her entire life in Arizona, a state she loved, from the Papago Mountains, where she hiked with friends, to the pine forests of Flagstaff-a favorite family destination.
She graduated from Northern Arizona University with degrees in Journalism, Education and Environmental Science. She used this background and her love of the earth to do many special projects on environmental topics with her students at J.B. Sutton Elementary where she taught. Her long career at Sutton Elementary included roles as a teacher of Kindergarten through 2
nd
grade and as the school Librarian.
Robin’s faith and her church family at First Baptist Church of Scottsdale were very important to her. She was active in many church projects and groups and enjoyed the friendships and support of her church community.
Her immediate and extended family played a large role in her life. She was the driving force behind many family reunions and get togethers. She is survived by her mother Helen Elizabeth (Betty) Forsberg, her sister and brother in law Roberta and Richard Pailes, and nephews Nathan and Matt Pailes, her aunt Jean Huntington, as well as many many first, second and third cousins.
Robin faced many health challenges during her life. With the help of her friends, family and caregiver she met these events with courage and patience. She was a kind and gentle woman whose values, ideals and generosity of spirit showed throughout her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the JDRF, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Arizona Humane Society.
