Edward J. Fry “Roger”, of Phoenix Arizona passed away Saturday evening November 20, 2021 with his loved ones by his side.
Roger was born on July 23rd, 1947 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada and was the youngest of four boys born of Fredrick “Nick” and Marion Fry. Roger grew up in Calgary Alberta and was a standout Basketball player for, and later coached, at St. Mary’s High School. He went on to study for a year at the University of Western Ontario before returning to Calgary to finish his Undergrad degree and MBA. After many successful years of business in Calgary, his entrepreneurial spirit drew he and his family to Phoenix Arizona in 1979. Over the years and countless various business ventures, Roger developed a passion for travelling. Aside from the immense love he had for his family and friends and living life to its fullest, he truly loved to travel to Europe and had a knack for finding the most unique places to visit. He developed many lifelong friendships while there and passionately enjoyed sharing his experiences with everyone he knew. He was seemingly always planning the next trip back.
Roger is survived by his beloved Katherine, his former wife Sandra, their children James (Angie), Michael (Suzanne), Adam (Darina) and Jesse (Olivia), his Grandchildren Gregory, Hannah, Emily, Zoe, Joshua, Mya, and Kyra, his Great Grandchildren Ryder and Sophie Rose, and 3 brothers, Nick, Phillip and Robin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Marion.
A celebration of life will be held December 9th, 2021 at Arizona Country Club, 5668 E. Orange Blossom Lane, Phoenix AZ, 85018 at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, Roger suggested donations to “Smile Train” which provides surgeries for children born with cleft palates. www.donate.smiletrain.org
