Norma Jean, “Jean or Jeanne” as many knew her, Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother journeyed home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2021. Born January 7, 1936 to Charles L. and Kathryn R. (Hershner) Brown, both deceased. She graduated from Leesville School Rural Jefferson Township in 1953 on June 21, 1952 she married the love of her life Robert M. Gale, now deceased. She was preceded in death by son, Robert M. Gale Jr., brother’s Gaylord F. and Ronald L. Brown. Jean is survived by daughter, Jennifer (Gale) Chapman Martinez of Phoenix, AZ., son’s Michael S. (Karen) Gale of Kokomo, IN, Randall L. (Marlene) of Herford, AZ, and David M. (Theresa Garaux) Gale of Columbus, OH.
In addition, she is survived by nine grandchildren. Katy (Tracy) Chapman Bowman of Cardington, OH, Jason Chapman of Galion, OH., Sarah (Daniel Correal) of Westfield, IN, Eric (Cecelia) Gale of San Antonio, TX, Alexander (Taylor) Gale of Fairborn, OH, Andrew Gale of Tucson, AZ, Robert (Lily) Gale of Santa Clarita, CA, John Gale of Oklahoma City, OK, and David S. Gale of Galion, OH. In addition, she is survived by four great grandchildren, Collin, Kaiden, Joey, and Warren.
Jean worked many clerical and bookkeeping jobs during her career. She worked at the Stratberry, North Electric and Galion Farm Services. In Arizona she loved selling Indian Jewelry, managing the office at New Chance Industries, and working at Stanley Tool Company in Phoenix. She was active with Galion Business and Professional Women, (BPW). She loved spending time with her family, old classmates, and friends, as well as listening and dancing to music at the VFW she enjoyed attending. She volunteered her time in the office of Central United Methodist Church in Phoenix, volunteered at the Granite Reef Senior Center in Scottdale. She participated in Guys and Dolls Organization and help run the Bingo Program there for many years.
