Shari Elizabeth Garner

Shari Elizabeth Garner passed away on November 26, 2021, at the age of 53. Shari was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and attended Xavier College Preparatory and graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1992. She was employed with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office from 1993 until her passing. She served with the MCSO under many capacities: Enforcement Support, Special Enforcement, Aviation, Tactical Flight Officer and Extraditions. In addition, she worked as a camp counselor for the Sheriff’s Office Youth Camp and was a chief participant in an article for “Women in Law Enforcement”. Shari was a dependable, kind, loyal and generous friend, sister and daughter. She enjoyed sports, traveling, music and spending time with family and friends. Shari is survived by her parents Charles and Shirley Garner, her Aunt Patricia Mattingly, her brothers John Garner and wife Jacquie, Rick Garner and wife Shauna, Mike Garner and wife Kim, 14 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd. Phoenix.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 10:00am at The Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 E. Lincoln Dr. Scottsdale, AZ 85253.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Franciscan Renewal Center in Shari’s memory.
