90, passed away June 18, 2016 in Glendale, Arizona. She was born January 24, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to Jeremiah and Elizabeth Griffin. Margaret was a graduate of St. Thomas of the Apostle High School in Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago in 1943. With the war effort still going, her passion to help people guided her to nursing. Margaret became a registered nurse after attending St. Bernard’s School of Nursing and graduating from Loyola University in Chicago in 1948. She started her career as a courier nurse for the

Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe

passenger trains Super Chief and El Capitan between Chicago and Los Angeles. In 1966, as passenger rail travel declined, Margaret began working at various hospitals in the Chicago area. She continued her nursing career after moving to Arizona and until her retirement in 1984.  Margaret enjoyed Native American culture and art. She was an active volunteer at the Heard Museum for over twenty years.  Margaret was predeceased by her husband Daniel J. Georgevich. She is survived by her son Edward of Phoenix, step-children Daniel R. (Christine) Georgevich, of Peoria AZ, Christine Polley, of Midlothian, IL and Janice Adams (deceased). Margaret was step-grandmother to Christy Adams, of Indianapolis, IN, Tricia (Ernie) Triplett, of Chandler, AZ, Derek Georgevich, of Chicago IL, Alan Georgevich (Stacey Wachowski) of Crown Point, IN, and Alissa Georgevich, of Chicago, IL. She had 3 step-great-grandsons, Brody and Bridger Triplett and Ronin Georgevich.
