Gail Giannantonio, 65, received her angel wings on July 14, 2020 after a month-long battle with COVID-19. Born on Staten Island, NY on October 25, 1954. Gail is survived by siblings: Debra (Tim), Bob (Lisa) and Greg (DeeDee). She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucille and brother, JJ. She leaves son Joseph, daughter-in-law Katyna, her two precious grandchildren: Giana and Mason, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1968 where she attended Camelback High School and Scottsdale Community College.
Gail was a 38-year veteran of the postal service receiving numerous awards and recognitions.
If you ever joined her on her annual pilgrimage to the holy lands of Disneyland and Knotts Berry at Halloween, what unforgettable memories.
After a victorious win with her 2-year fight against breast cancer, she lost a 4-week battle with COVID-19 in the ICU while on a ventilator. She was the most cautious combating this foul disease…she was fanatical about spraying and wiping and was making masks, handing them out to people who did not have one.
Gail had the biggest and warmest heart you would ever want to see, with hugs that made the boo-boo go away. Don’t cross her, though, the wrath of Gail would come down upon you and beat you like a “Pinata”.
Family has requested, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Breast Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. – 12 Noon p.m. with a Funeral Service at 12 Noon at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix.
